For example, we modeled an in-home nurse visitation program for first-time mothers in L.A. County. The County currently funds the program for 1,075 beneficiaries, however 27,500 are eligible. Our research showed that implementation of the program in underserved households reduces crime and suicide attempts, and for every dollar invested it returns $1.18.
